General & Advanced Surgery

Our surgical staff is highly trained and thoroughly experienced in both routine and advanced surgical procedures. When a beloved pet undergoes a surgery, it can be stressful for those who love them. We encourage our clients to ask us any questions they have, and we will share knowledge about the procedure and advice to help ease the mind.

    • Before surgery, we will schedule a pre-operative appointment to ensure that the animal is healthy enough to undergo the procedure and sedation. We will also take proactive measures to manage their pain.
    • During the surgery, a veterinary assistant will be responsible for rigorously monitoring their heart rate and breathing to ensure they are in a stable condition.
    • Following the surgery, we will closely monitor their condition as the anesthesia wears off. Depending on the severity of the surgery, they may be able to go home the same day, or they may need to stay in the facility overnight so our professional animal caretakers can continue to track their progress.

Provided below are some examples of our most common surgical procedures:

Spay surgery refers to the removal of the uterus and ovaries of female animals. We recommend spay surgery to be performed before the first heat period for full protection against pregnancy. Also, if performed before this timeframe, chances of a female dog contracting breast cancer fall by 90%.

Neuter surgery refers to the removal of the testes of male animals. Animals who have been neutered tend to be less aggressive and easier to train. Males also benefit from a decreased risk of prostate and testicular cancers.

Surgical Oncology is performed to remove or stop the spread of cancer or tumors in the body.

Soft tissue surgery is any procedure not on the joints or bones. It is an umbrella term that includes laceration repair, hernia repair, bladder stone removal, and more.
