Cherokee Hospital for Animals - Pet Boarding in Johnson City TN

"If you do tomorrow what you did today, you will get tomorrow what you got today" - Ben Franklin.

During my 10+ years working for Cherokee Hospital for Animals, I have been a part of many wonderful changes within our clinic. Since 2013 I’ve been working in our boarding and daycare department. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it because let’s be honest…is there a better job than caring for animals each day? I guess I can’t speak for everyone, but for my co-workers and I, the opportunity to care for our clients’ pets has been a privilege. I have been lucky enough to work for and with some very amazing people, all of which share the same passion and love for each furry (sometimes furless) friend who walks through our door. Working alongside our amazing doctors and practice manager has been an extremely rewarding experience. They continuously find ways to bring our staff closer together, always reminding us we are a family here at Cherokee. If working at Cherokee has taught me anything, it’s how fortunate I am to love the work I do and enjoy the people I work with. So…If I do tomorrow what I did today and get tomorrow what I got today…Then I am blessed.

Dog Boarding

  • Dogs are walked at least twice a day in our secure yard.
  • Our veterinary professionals will monitor them throughout the day and stop by to offer lots of pats and scratches.
  • Larger dogs can use our traditional full-size runs.
  • Our cozy kennels are the perfect size for smaller dogs who want to curl up in a den-like enclosure

Cat Boarding

  • We have a distinct area for cat lodging, isolated from the dog lodging zone, to guarantee a tension-free atmosphere.
  • Cats will be treated to a special private condo complete with tunnels leading to additional compartments for them to play in and perches for them to lounge on. They also have their own litter box, and our staff will spend time keeping them entertained.

Required Vaccinations

When selecting a pet boarding facility, one crucial aspect to consider is the vaccination prerequisites. A trustworthy establishment will mandate that all pets have current vaccinations to guarantee the wellbeing and security of all animals under their supervision. Here is a rundown of the necessary vaccinations your pet needs to have before they can be accommodated at our facility. To prevent the spread of parasites, all pets must be free of internal and external parasites. If pets are found to have parasites while boarding, they will be treated for them at the expense of the owner. If your pet is behind on a certain vaccination, we will be happy to provide them with it before their check-in date.
